The Society has a mobile show stand that it takes to as many events as it can every year. In spreading the story of Northamptonshire’s heritage and military history it isn’t sufficient for us to be passive and wait for people to come to us. You can normally find us at most heritage events around and about Northampton, and we also visit military history shows and similar events to get our message across. We are expecting to attend the following events:
24th February – Desborough Civic Society
Graham Evans, the Society’s Secretary is giving a talk on the Battle of Edgcote at the Desborough Heritage Centre in Station Road at 7:30pm. Copies of the Society’s book on the subject will be available for purchase.
7th March – Richard III Society, Norwich
Graham will be giving his “How to Become King in Medieval England” talk., which proved quite a hit when given to the Society in November 2019. Open to non-members.

8th March – West Midlands Military Society Show, Alumwell
Our first show of the year. We will be there with our Edgcote model and several volunteers to talk to the public about our exciting history.

4th April – “Where they fought” Conference, Norwich
The East Anglian Region of the BT and the Norfolk Branch of the RIIISoc are running a Study Day, entitled “Where they fought”, with talks on 1st & 2nd St Albans, Barnet, Bosworth and Edgcote. Chairman Mike Ingram and Graham Evans are providing the talks for the last two. Tickets are priced at £21.00 and can be purchased from Annmarie Hayek, email annmarie@talktalk.net. The event takes place at The Assembly Rooms, Norwich
17th May – Partizan Wargames Show, Newark Showground
We will be in the history zone with one of our battlefield models.
5th July – Joy of Six, Sheffield
An unusual foray into the North for the Society. We will be displaying our 6mm model of Edgcote, and Graham Evans will be giving a seminar talk on the battle as well. The event is held at Sheffield Hallam University, in the centre of Sheffield.

Delapre Abbey Living History – July 2020
It is unknown exactly when or if this event will be held this year. The Society aims to attend if possible.
Battle of Northampton Anniversary Walk – 10th July 2020

The Society will be holding its annual commemoration and battlefield explanation in the evening, starting at the Eleanor Cross. This event is free and open to all. Start time 7pm.
Hereward Wargames Show, Peterborough – 6th September

Held at the Cresset Centre this is a good local show, with interesting games and a good selection of trade stands. We are pleased to be able to support this event. More details can be found at: http://www.hereward-wargames.co.uk/
Heritage Open Days 11 – 20 September

The Other Partizan, Newark – 11th October
Similar to the event in May.
Full details are yet to be announced, but the National Event will run from 11th – 20th September. In previous years the Society has been based at the Eleanor Cross, which enables us to talk about both the fascinating history of the Cross and the 1460 battlefield.
Northamptonshire Day September/October 2020

Again, no details have been announced, but we fully expect this successful event to be repeated and we expect to attend.
