The Society has a mobile show stand that it takes to as many events as it can every year. In spreading the story of Northamptonshire’s heritage and military history it isn’t sufficient for us to be passive and wait for people to come to us. You can normally find us at most heritage events around and about Northampton, and we also visit military history shows and similar events to get our message across. This year we will be featuring our brand new Battle of Edgcote model, featuring highly detailed painted minatures and realistic scale model terrain. We are expecting to attend the following events:
Delapre Abbey Living History – 6th/7th July 2019
Due to other commitments the Society WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND this event in 2019. we hope to be back in 2020.
Battle of Northampton Anniversary Walk – 10th July 2019
The Society will be holding its annual commemoration and battlefield explanation in the evening, starting at the Eleanor Cross. This event is free and open to all. Start time 7pm.
Battle of Edgcote Anniversary Walk – 24th July 2019
To commemorate the 550th anniversary of the battle a guided battlefield walk will take place in the evening, starting in Chipping Warden. This walk will be free to members of the Society and the Battlefields Trust, £7.50 to non-members. We will start at 7pm from outside the Griffin Inn. Expect the walk to take about 2 hours. NB The walk is on public footpaths, trails and bridleways across working farmland, and will involve crossing a stile or two. Please wear sensible footwear and don’t be surprised if your shoes get muddy.
The Other Partizan, Newark – 18th August 2019
Similar to the event in May. See link above for details.
Hereward Wargames Show, Peterborough – 1st September 2019
Held at the Cresset Centre this is a good local show, with interesting games and a good selection of trade stands. We are pleased to be able to support this event. More details can be found at: http://www.hereward-wargames.co.uk/
